"I transmit astral plane harmonies through my brushes into the physical plane. These otherworld colours are reflected in the alphabet of nature, a grammar in which the symbols are plants, animals, birds, fishes, earth and sky. I am merely a channel for the spirit to utilize, and it is needed by a spirit starved society."

"I’ve been looking for books all my life – books about American Indians. Anything that I could find that was civil and worthwhile besides what my Grandfather was telling me about the Iroquois and others. There isn’t very much written about Natives in the art and history books we read today. The only thing that was written was about the Iroquois slaughtering the Jesuits somewhere and Sitting Bull and his followers being chased out of Canada."

"Circle of Four", © 1978 Norval Morrisseau

-
>>> An authentic Norval Morrisseau painting at the Senate of Canada. Relocated from the 'Aboriginal Peoples Committee Room' to the private office of Mr. Charles Robert - a Principal Clerk at the 'Chamber Operations and Procedure Office' in the Senate of Canada.

-

"Circle of Four", Acrylic on canvas, © 1978 Norval Morrisseau
~ Signed (initalled), dated, copyrighted and titled on the reverse side ~
/Click on image to view it as posted on the Senate of Canada website/

"This work 'Circle of Four' refers to the circle as a symbol of the world and its forces. The number four is sacred for Aboriginal peoples, recalling the four ages in life, the four directions and the four seasons. It also evokes the intimate union among the inseparable elements of the harmonious universe - water, air, earth and fire - of which Aboriginal peoples are the servants and guardians."-

* This piece of art by Norval Morrisseau 'Circle of Four' was one of the 28 paintings donated (2004-2005) to the Canadiana Fund which loaned of the works of Aboriginal art hanging in the Aboriginal Peoples Committee Room in Parliament’s Centre Bloc. They were donated to the Canadiana Fund by the Honourable Serge Joyal, Senator, P.C., O.C. (click HERE & go to >>> 'Biography' >>> 'Heritage').

> Established in 1990, the Canadiana Fund enhances Canada’s seven official residences, as well as the Parliament Buildings, through donations and loans of historical furnishings, paintings and objets d’art.

Note: As per telephone conversation (05/21/2009) with Mr. Tõnu Onu who is also a Clerk of the Senate of Canada confirmed to me that 'Aboriginal Peoples Committee Room' does not look as presented in current picture at Senate's website (click HERE) and that completely new art collection have been presented on the room's walls which proved Norval Morrisseau painting being digitally removed from the original image by the webmaster rather than taking a brand new photograph to present current situation of the room in question (click HERE & HERE for 'before' & 'after' versions of a digital photograph of the Aboriginal Peoples Committee Room presented at Senate's website).

In Canada, the celebration of Victoria Day occurs every year on Monday, prior to May 25th. It is the official celebration in Canada of the birthdays of Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth II. Victoria Day was established as a holiday in Canada West (Now Ontario) in 1845, and became a national holiday in 1901. Before Victoria Day became a national Holiday, people had celebrated Empire Day , beginning in the 1890s as Victoria approached her Diamond jubilee in 1897. Victoria, queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and empress of India was born on 24 May 1819. She ascended the throne after the death of her uncle George IV in 1837 when she was only 18. She ruled until her death in 1901 when her son Edward the VII became king of England.

The following statement is from KRG's blog dated August, 10th, 2008. This proves their many years of deception which started with a 'National Post' article: "Morrisseau fakes alleged" dated May 18th, 2001 launched by Donald Robinson of the Kinsman Robinson Galleries in his efforts to corner the Norval Morrisseau Art Market through slander and smear campaigns:

"We created our blog, after Norval Morrisseau passed away, so that collectors and buyers alike could have access to reliable information and to present the truth about the proliferation of Morrisseau forgeries which have flooded the marketplace. KRG will continue to deal with everyone with absolute integrity. We will provide up-to-date and accurate information to the best of our knowledge and ability. We're committed to this mission."

Notes for the post No. 3: These legally binding 'Certificates of Authenticity' were signed and thumbprinted by Norval Morrisseau as he personally handled and inspected the 'front and reverse' of these canvases for his identifying marks. Signing of the certificates were eyewitnessed during their presentation to Norval Morrisseau by Mr. William (Bill) Wallace, his sons Christian and Eugene Morrisseau, and at a later date attested by David Morrisseau as well.

Also, I quote a closing statement by lawyer Richard H.Baker (dated 01/09/2008 Re: Moniz v. CTV Globemedia Publishing Inc.) in his letter from the Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society /NMHS/ (click HERE): "The Society has no reason to believe that Mr. Morrisseau was at any time incompetent". -

As per Endnote No. 1 of this post (click HERE) it states that: "During this trip to Thunder Bay in 2002, Norval Morrisseau was not under the care of, nor was he advised by, KRG and Don Robinson or Gabe Vadas. Rather, he was acting of his own accord under the care of his relatives."

"If Norval Morrisseau was not at any time incompetent as per the above statement from the NMHS it is clear that the 'Cerificates of Authenticity' signed and thumbprinted by Norval Morrisseau are admissable in a Court of Law as valid proof of authenticity and provenance... CASE CLOSED".
