Questioning validity of the Norval Morrisseau's sworn affidavits!?

>>> NORVAL MORRISSEAU BLOG & Protecting the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau continues...-

-
This 'You Tube' video shows continuation of Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair's dishonest and disrespectful behaviour he has been exhibiting since October 2008 when he launched the 'Norval Morrisseau Art Market Devaluation Attack' (click HERE).

I direct readers to examine the Norval Morrisseau's signed affidavits, listed above and presented for viewing below, that were just some of the Gabor Vadas' manipulations he performed during 20 year relationship (1987-2007) with Norval Morrisseau (click HERE).

The following Norval Morrisseau's sworn affidavits in 'PDF' format listed in the above 'You Tube' video are involving the following galleries and/or individuals:

1. Maslak McLeod Gallery, Toronto, Ontario (click HERE and HERE);
----/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on March 14th and April 24th, 2003/

2. Artworld of Sherway, Toronto, Ontario (click HERE);
---/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on September 22nd, 2004/

3. Gallery Sunami, North York, Ontario (click HERE);
---/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on November 30th, 2004/

4. Bearclaw, Gallery, Edmonton, Alberta (click HERE);
---/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on April 8th, 2005/

5. Randy Potter Auctions, Port Hope, Ontario (click HERE) &
---/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on April 8th, 2005/

6. Mr. Gary Lamont, Thunder Bay, Ontario (click HERE).
---/Signed by Norval Morrisseau on November 30th, 2004/-

During the month of April 2010 this blog will present the number of reports which will clearly show many inconsistencies of the above presented Norval Morrisseau's sworn affidavits and will display without any doubt wrongful, dishonest, disrespectful and manipulative behaviours of Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair, Gabor Vadas, Bryant Ross, Donald Robinson, John Zemanovich and Mark Anthony Jacobson a.k.a. PEY-SIM-AWAY-APEY-BINASI who are the the main players of the Norval Morrisseau Conspiracy which has been exposed on this blog and elswhere.

>>> CLOSING STATEMENT: The reason why I started this blog more than two years ago was due to false statements made by Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Coghlan Art Studio & Gallery and individuals* (a List of Individuals presented at the end of this paragraph) closely associated with Norval Morrisseau regarding paintings in question. I felt the need to create a platform that will speak for Norval when this priviledge to speak for himself was put in the hands of others that were only interested in their personal financial gain by putting the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau aside.

I am dissapointed that Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society is not honouring their mission statement which states:

"The Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society was established at the request of Norval Morrisseau to research, document and preserve his artistic achievement and protect the integrity of his art. It seeks to achieve this mission by establishing and maintaining a registry of his works, publishing and updating a catalogue raisonne of his artistic output and providing the necessary expertise to authenticate his art."-

Why are they silent? Is their silence approval for what has been presented on Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair's www.morrisseau.com? If they truly care in "protecting the integrity of Norval Morrisseau's art" they would need to speak up. Their silence is hurting the legacy of the man they are supposed to protect and the longer they wait to publish a public statement regarding this matter presented herein, the longer the legacy of Norval Morrisseau will suffer.

This website www.morrisseau.com is a disservice to Norval Morrisseau, his legacy and the people of Canada. It is full of lies put forth by the people who have little or no expertise to judge the authenticity of Norval Morrisseau's and who are acting only for greed of others using false histories as their methods of deception.

I am a strong believer that Norval Morrisseau's Legacy belongs to his people "the Great Ojibway" and to family that bears his name - Morrisseau Family.

"May the truth be told and known to all"

>>> The only comment of 24-DEC-2007 for this blog's post which introduced for the first time painting presented on the right, 'Water Spirits' (1979) was placed by Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair stating: "And a beautiful Morrisseau it is - so embued with Vision!" (Click HERE to read the comment in it's original context).
-
A day earlier on 23-DEC-2007 Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair e-mailed me with compliments to my work on NORVAL MORRISSEAU BLOG and wrote that "he had watched my blog grow and glow and that it was a classy piece of work"... and that
"he had envisioned a possibility were he and I could harmonize forces to facilitate the 'Morrisseau' movement as a whole, and in a general sense stating that we both appear to share a healthy respect for Spirit and for The People's voice".
-
Eight months later on 26-AUG-2008 he had asked me for a favour to "remove the comment he posted on 24-DEC-2007" (click HERE) and stated that "he loves NORVAL MORRISSEAU BLOG and that he will continue to appreciate my support of his work (and me)". Also he mentioned that "Our work is too important!"

-
>>> BLOG MASTER'S COMMENT:
-
After starting the 'Norval Morrisseau Art Market Devaluation Attack' Mr. Sinclair added the following disclaimer note at the end of each of the pages on his website www.stardreamers.com in "Woodland Art Online" Gallery:
-
"The images posted in this archive are not for sale. They are simply pictures that I collected from various internet art sources years ago and posted here for inspiration and enjoyment. With the exception of paintings that I witnissed painted or Exhibited by Morrisseau I have no way of discerning whether the images shown here are all authentic Morrisseau originals. Nevertheless, Enjoy!"
-
... Still, even after admitting that 'he has no way of discerning what is and what is not an original work by Norval Morrisseau except those he witnessed painted or Exhibited by Norval Morrisseau' he was able to label hundreds of paintings in galleries all across the North America and private collections as "Inferior Counterfeit Morrisseaus" without even seeing them and examining them in person (see his website www.morrisseau.com under the category "Counterfeit Norval Morrisseau Art").
-
... Also, Mr. Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair stated in his disclaimer that he posted said images 'for inspiration and enjoyment' and after three years of exhibiting them on www.stardreamers.com he claimed on his other website www.morrisseau.com the following:
-
"I stand by my opinions on the artwork that I have pointed to as forged. I don't blame any gallery for selling them but I consider it their responsibility to be as informed as possible about the work they promote. Once informed if they continue to sell forged artwork they join the Windigo spirit that drives this enterprise."
(Click HERE to read Mr. Sinclair's comment in it's entirety)
-
>>> CLOSING STATEMENT:
-
The capture of my findings proves one thing only. That Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair who is claiming to be a protégé of Norval Morrisseau is well aware of his 'hypocritical and lying past activities' which have come to the fore in real time 'cought red-handed' as it were in trying to cover up his scheme of 'Norval Morrisseau Art Market Devaluation Attack' but was unsuccessful at deleting critical and damning evidence supporting his slanderous activities and by doing so he joined Gabor Vadas, Bryant Ross, Donald Robinson, John Zemanovich and Mark Anthony Jacobson a.k.a. PEY-SIM-AWAY-APEY-BINASI as the main players of the Norval Morrisseau Conspiracy which has been exposed on this blog and elswhere.

An authentic painting by Norval Morrisseau not given the recognition it deserved in the 'National Post' article:
"Morrisseau fakes alleged" /National Post, May 18th, 2001/.
-
-
AN ISSUE OF 'MARKET COMPETITION': 'NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN'
-
When viewing this entire issue one is left with the obvious conclusion that those who hold 'superior looking' pieces done by Norval Morrisseau have dominated the market for many decades. This is obviously a reasonable and logical result. A couple of galleries already mentioned many times have sought to curb this domination in favour of the later works by Norval Morrisseau which they presently hold large inventory stock in. Irregardless of the period that a painting maybe coming from be it the 60's,70's and 80's a campaign to slander competive work began on May 18th 2001 as revealed in the National Post newspaper article posted in this Blog (click HERE).
-
No apology nor admission by the newspaper to the public was ever given to vindicate the artwork they slandered ignorantly. This painting is authentic in all aspects.
-
The internet has become an avenue for severe attack by these few individuals wishing to spread 'market terrorism'. Justice is prevailing and their time is quickly running out. One must ask 'Why has the internet been such a threat to these galleries?' Simply put an individual selling their private property can sell at a much lower price without overhead costs that a 'brick and mortar gallery' store otherwise passes on as higher prices to their customers. Nothing new here folks. Savings of thousands of dollars are not unheard of because of this phenomenon caused by the internet.
-
If you people had spent your time promoting all of Norval Morrisseau's work as one body instead of attacking certain pieces and periods then the market would have turned for the better for 'everyone'. But your fear of not getting your share took over your minds and the result has been a massive 'back firing'... congratulations-ironically speaking of course.
-
I do not blame you for being hypnotised by this mass-production quantity vs quality consciousness you hold. It shows up in your lives everyday and you know no other way for now.
-
Classified ads in newspapers have always been in the marketplace but with the internet an individual's exposure to what they have for sale is multiplied many times over and success in a sale occurs more often and easily. 'Art competiton?' This statement is erroneous by nature. Art can never be competitive if we are dealing with an 'original one of kind' piece of art. Mass produced art such as prints and giclées can certainly exhibit a competitive platform in the market place because there are many copies made of the same painting. Other deciding factors in purchasing a mass produced copy are based on prices, services, and availability of the art at various galleries holding the same prints.
-
However when one holds an 'Original one-of-kind' piece of art there can be 'no competion' against that work because there is only one of it's kind in the whole world. What would it have to 'compete' with? You may say another painting of similar theme and be correct but it is just a similar theme and not an exact copy as you would find with a print or giclée. The deciding factors for a collector of Original art are completely different than mass produced art as explained above.
-
Massed produced art will always have its place in the market for collectors who cannot afford the 'real thing' but wish to enjoy the imagery the art presented to them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this.
-
What will be the deciding factor for a collector to purchase a genuine piece of art is simply their ability to 'afford it or not' and if they enjoy seeing the 'Image or not'. Your chronic 'assembly line mass produced mentality' cannot apply here. In the 'old days' we would determine the price of Morrisseau by its square inch believe it or not. What an insult that is to the creator of the art work that people are interested in quantity and not quality of the image presented. People who hold to this mentality exhibit an extreme ignorance of the art and should be avoided at all costs. It is better to possess one flawless one carat diamond than 10 flawed one carat diamonds! Quality will always supercede quantity in life.
-
As genuine pieces of art increase in prices substantially this will leave many collectors 'out in the cold' sort of speak. They will leave the 'market arena' disgruntled that they can no longer purchase a piece of art at their accustomed lower prices of the past years gone bye. Many who are upset in this category will sabotage the market themselves to keep prices lower by spreading lies and false accusations about the art which they secretely adore and wish to covet. A weeding out process is occuring leaving behind the more affluent capable of purchasing high-end art.
-
Protégés and students alike in the discipline of the Woodland Art are also finding themselves to be the minions of evil and slander against Norval Morrisseau to further their own failing art careers. A classic case of the 'student turning against the master'. To these would be artists my advice to you is to remember to be unique and not a 'copy cat'. There was ever only one Rembrandt, one Van Gogh, one Picasso, one Chagal, one Dali, and one 'MORRISSEAU'...

>>> This legally binding 'Certificate of Authenticity' was signed and thumbprinted by Norval Morrisseau as he personally handled and inspected the 'front and reverse' of this canvas painting titled 'We Are All One', (1975) for his identifying marks. This 'Certificate of Authenticity' was eyewitnessed by Mr. William (Bill) Wallace during its presentation to Norval Morrisseau. Signing of this certificate were also eyewitnessed by his sons Christian and Eugene Morrisseau.
-
Note: This painting was previously part of Mr. Rolf Schneider's Private Collection (Thunder Bay, Ontario) and later exhibited and sold at Mr. Gary Lamont's website at www.woodlandartgallery.ca.
-
- Presented in this posting is a great example of Norval Morrisseau's art from the 1970s.
-
Related story/link: In oder to provide legitimacy to their pieces collectors along with vendors including Toronto galleries who had pronounced the pieces genuine; commissioned a report on the signatures in English 'Norval Morrisseau' found on the front and back of the paintings. The Document Examination Consultants Inc. (who are a forensic services company based out in Ottawa Canada) were provided with publicly known letters/pictures and many signature specimens done by Norval Morrisseau and concluded that the signatures that were able to be read were in their 'expert opinion' done by the hand of Norval Morrisseau. This was considered solid evidence of the legitimacy of the pieces (click HERE, HERE & HERE to view forensic signature analysis reports for three Norval Morrisseau artworks painted in the 1970s).
-
Q: "Why do galleries feel that they need to provide legitimacy to their art pieces of Norval Morrisseau? Should a gallery not be confident (and responsible) in what they are selling?"
-
A: "Galleries do feel a need to provide legitimacy to their pieces in the above stated way. Today it is now safer than ever before to purchase valuable art painted by Norval Morrissau. With an ever growing database of forensic analysis to draw from. We can authenticate this artist's work easily and professionally. Thus eliminating any trepidation for collectors... novice and seasoned." -
-
BLOG MASTER'S COMMENT: The reason why I started this blog more than two years ago was due to false statements made by Kinsman Robinson Galleries, Coghlan Art Studio & Gallery and individuals* (a List of Individuals presented at the end of this paragraph) closely associated with Norval Morrisseau regarding paintings in question. I felt the need to create a platform that will speak for Norval when this priviledge to speak for himself was put in the hands of others that were only interested in their personal financial gain by putting the Legacy of Norval Morrisseau aside.
-
I am dissapointed that Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society is not honouring their mission statement which states:
-
"The Norval Morrisseau Heritage Society was established at the request of Norval Morrisseau to research, document and preserve his artistic achievement and protect the integrity of his art. It seeks to achieve this mission by establishing and maintaining a registry of his works, publishing and updating a catalogue raisonne of his artistic output and providing the necessary expertise to authenticate his art."
-
-Why are they silent? Is their silence approval for what has been presented on www.morrisseau.com? If they truly care in "protecting the integrity of Norval Morrisseau's art" they would need to speak up. Their silence is hurting the legacy of the man they are supposed to protect and the longer they wait to publish a public statement regarding this matter presented herein, the longer the legacy of Norval Morrisseau will suffer.
-
This website www.morrisseau.com is a disservice to Norval Morrisseau, his legacy and the people of Canada. It is full of lies put forth by the people who have little or no expertise to judge the authenticity of Norval Morrisseau's and who are acting only for greed of others using false histories as their methods of deception.
-
I am a strong believer that Norval Morrisseau's Legacy belongs to his people "the Great Ojibway" and to family that bears his name - Morrisseau Family.

CLOSING STATEMENT: Created by world-renowned Canadian Aboriginal painter Norval Morrisseau, the 'Androgyny' was installed In the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General (OSGG) in the Rideau Hall (Ottawa) that replaced Charlottetown Revisited, a work created by the Jean Paul Lemieux, which has been on loan from the Confederation Centre of the Arts since 2006.
-
The loan of 'Androgyny' to Rideau Hall is made possible thanks to a partnership with the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and the Indian and Inuit Art Centre. The piece will be on display until 2011 and will be seen by everyone visiting Rideau Hall.

"In my opinion the Government of Canada could have honoured Norval Morrisseau in a much better way if they had investigated these issues themselves through legal authorities at their disposal. The legacy and great body of artwork by the late Norval Morrisseau is a 'National Treasure' that will honour the commitment made by the Canadian Government in regards to our unique and diverse cultural heritage to be enjoyed by future generations of Canadians".
