>>> This acrylic painting on canvas was a tribute by Anishinaabe painter Don Ningewance to Norval Morrisseau. This artwork was originally posted in 2005 on www.woodlandartgallery.ca owned by Mr. Gary Lamont of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
-
Three years later on April 3rd, 2008 the same painting was presented in a post titled "Not by Morrisseau's hand" as an example of the fake Norval Morrisseau painting:
-
The painting seen left is a stellar example of a work Not created by Morrisseau's hand. In fact, it is signed by the real painter having painted Norval's portrait in homage to the great master (based on a 1992 photograph by Louie Palu.) The palette as well as the stylistic elements match many of the so-called questionable Morrisseaus circulating on the market. We invite you to come to your own conclusion. Just be wary of paintings in this style purported to be by Morrisseau even if they're signed Copper Thunderbird in syllabic symbols...

-
I had contacted Mr. Don Ningewance and expressed my concern of Kinsman Robinson Galleries showing his tribute to Norval Morrisseau as an example of a fake Norval Morrisseau painting (note that the above painting was signed by Don Ningewance himself in the bottow right corner on face of the canvas).

-
NOTE: The same concern was expressed by an anonymous commentor who wrote the following: -Can you please read posting on Kinsman Robinson Blog: "Not by Morrisseau's hand"? -- They have not even recognized that painting was done by Don Ningewance. Don painted it in honour of the great artist: Norval Morrisseau - Copper Thunderbird and KRG is using it for their own self-serving goals and they showed total disrespect to the artist in question - Don Ningewance. 04 April, 2008 13:24 - (click HERE)

The above screen capture is the KRG blog's version of the same post titled "Not by Morrisseau's hand" but this time renamed to "In Homage to Morriseau (sic)" and re-written for content but only after Mr. Don Ningewance contacted Kinsman Robinson Galleries to express his dissatisfaction of thier action.

2) Disrespectful behaviour of Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer towards Anishinaabe painter Don Ningewance
-
>>> On june 10th, 2010, Mr. Robert Lavack's statement was presented on Ritchie Sinclair's "Authentic Norval Morrisseau blog" (His Blog & Website shut down in January, 2011 - click HERE):
-
"...Without passing any artistic judgement on the painting of Norval Morrisseau "Dance of the Weasels" that you have shown on your recent blog, it is a painting I can imagine Norval doing when he was in a humorous mood. Something I would like to buy if it was available and the price was right. When I saw it I burst out laughing because it gave me a brief glimpse of the old Morrisseau I knew. The "Dance of the Weasels" and the recent "Three Blind Mice" paintings would keep me laughing until I stepped off this planet...."

The following was Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer's reply to the above Mr. Robert Lavack's statement:
-
"Robert Lavack, who claims to have once fished Norval out of Big Trout Lake, was fortunate that he didn't buy this painting titled, "Dance of the Weasels", because its not an authentic Norval Morrisseau painting. Sadly, this fake Morrisseau was painted by an excellent artist (1) who was motivated to work with Morrisseau art forgers Gary Lamont and Benjamin Morrisseau."

The above presented collage of images is described by Ritchie 'Stardreamer' Sinclair as per following statement:
-
>>> In the opinion of Norval Morrisseau protege, Ritchie "Stardreamer" Sinclair, you are viewing images of authentic Don Ningewance paintings compared with an inferior counterfeit Norval Morrisseau painting created by Don Ningewance. Also displayed is an image of an authentic Don Ningewance portrait arrogantly commissioned by Morrisseau art forger, Gary Lamont (see image below). This painting depicts the lifelike heads of Norval Morrisseau and Gary Lamont a.k.a. Gary Bruce Thacky painted over a 1970's genre Morrisseau forgery. Morrisseau art forger Don Ningwance and Morrisseau art forger Ben Morrisseau's handiwork is displayed on a website venue of Ugo Matulic, Michael Moniz of the Ebay Galleries of Avalon, Joe Otavnik, Jim White of White Distribution and Joe McLeod of Maslak McLeod Gallery at http://norvalmorrisseau.blogspot.com. Don Ningewance's authentic art is displayed at http://www.yessy.com/DonNingewance/gallery.html

Don Ningewance's tribute to friendship between Mr. Gary Lamont and Norval Morrisseau commissioned by Mr. Gary Lamont. This painting is signed by Mr. Don Ningewance but the image has been cropped by Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer and he calls the background of these portraits as a "70's Morrisseau forged backdrop"

>>> BLOG MASTER'S COMMENT:
-
It is surprising to see that Kinsman Robinson Galleries, which claims 'to commit to the highest ethical standards', disrespected artwork by Don Ningewance and labeling it a fake Norval Morrisseau painting. Without any consideration to Mr. Don Ningewance who dedicated the above presented artwork in honour of Norval Morrisseau.
-
Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer, who claims to be a "Chosen Protégé of Norval Morrisseau", called a genuine Norval Morrisseau painting titled "Dance of the Weasels" (1976) a forgery disrespectfully attributed to Don Ningewance who Ritchie R. Sinclair also called a "Norval Morrisseau Art Forger". Quite obviously he has once again turned his eye towards attacking innocent people. His agenda now included a respected Anishinaabe artists Don Ningewance and Benjamin Morrisseau who together with Gary Lamont were disrespectfully labeled as primary forgerers of Norval Morrisseau's artworks. These accusations are unfounded and are being addressed in a Canadian Court of law that will make (hopefully soon) Ritchie R. Sinclair to pay for the consequences of his actions. Mentioning of Michael Moniz, Joseph Otavnik, James White and Joseph McLeod as co-authors of this blog is completely taken out of context with only one intention in mind - to misinform the public.
-
NOTE: Ritchie R. Sinclair a.k.a. Stardreamer has been recently supported by Donald C. Robinson of Kinsman Robinson Galleries in a court case Otavnik Vs Sinclair SC 09-00082782-0000 even after Ritchie R. Sinclair called number of paintingts from Kinsman Robinson Galleries' publication as 'Inferior Counterfeit Morrisseau's". These paintings were from the book "Norval Morrisseau: Travels to the House of Invention" (1997) which was copyrighted by Norval Morrisseau and Kinsman Robinson Galleries themselves (click HERE & HERE).
